THE CONFLUENCE AND FORT BUFORD
About thirty minutes outside of Williston is the Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence. Where the two rivers come together there is a little information center, museum and gift shop. The funny thing is that you can't actually walk down to the rivers there.
The photo of the postcards makes me laugh. All of the postcards are highlights of North Dakota. I took a closer look to see what else we needed to check out. Um, we have seen them all and only been here three months.
Down the road from the Confluence is Fort Buford. Fort Buford was a military post in the mid to late 1800's. The only part I explored was the cemetery. Those tombstones are the perfect inspiration for Halloween decorations, don't you think?
